About
Crisis intelligence you can check.
Crisis information is fragmented. GDACS issues disaster alerts. USGS publishes earthquake impact estimates. UN OCHA and ReliefWeb publish humanitarian updates. News organisations report developments as they happen. RedAlertDirect puts them in one place — and shows, for every item, who said it, when they said it, and when we last checked.
What we do
- Poll authoritative sources every 30 minutes and place current disaster alerts and monitored conflicts on one map.
- Show each disaster at the issuing source's own alert level. We do not invent scores; conflicts without an authoritative scale are marked "Not rated".
- Attach dated reports from the UN and established news organisations to each event, newest first, with older developments kept and dated.
- Email subscribers only when a source reports a significant change.
What we don't do
- No AI-written summaries, scores or events. No figures typed into the site by hand.
- No social media or anonymous sources.
- No political positions, and no payment to feature or suppress anything.
- We are not a warning service. Follow your national authority for warnings, and your government's foreign-affairs advice for travel (Ireland: DFA; UK: FCDO).
Who it is for
Anyone who needs a quick, honest picture of what is happening — journalists, NGO and corporate security teams, researchers, travellers and engaged readers — and wants to be able to click through to the source.
