RedAlertDirect is operated as part of the CheckIreland Network. This policy explains how we handle data when you use redalertdirect.com.

Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Email address — if you subscribe to our daily brief alerts. Used only to send you the newsletter you signed up for.
• Usage data — anonymised analytics via Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking).
• Server logs — standard HTTP access logs retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging.

How We Use Your Data

• Email addresses are used solely to deliver the daily crisis brief newsletter.
• We do not sell, share, or trade your personal data with third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

Cookies

RedAlertDirect does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We may use a single session cookie for functional purposes only (e.g., consent state). No cookie consent banner is required beyond this.

Newsletter & Unsubscribing

If you subscribe to our daily brief, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly. We will remove your data within 7 days of your request.

Data Retention

Newsletter subscriber emails are retained until you unsubscribe. Server logs are deleted after 30 days. We do not retain any other personal data.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to processing of your data
• Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland): dataprotection.ie

Third-Party Services

RedAlertDirect uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Vercel — hosting and edge infrastructure
• Supabase — database (subscriber emails stored in EU region)
• Anthropic Claude API — AI-assisted content summarisation (no user data is passed to the AI)
